● Why & What ●

● Why I'm Walking ●
Because everybody deserves the chance of a lifetime... Because I can. I can walk. Even if I have had 2 surgeries on my ankle, and Arnoldi moans every now and then. (I'll just strap him up so that he behaves!) And because I have a very supportive network of family and friends, who are also fundraising for me! I could  not do what I do without any of them!

"Cancer is cancer, regardless of cause or type." And that is what I always say, and will continue to say. Both my sister and father passed away to cancer, within 2 years of each other! My sister was only 42 years old. She didn't have breast cancer. Neither did my father. But "cancer is cancer, regardless of cause or type!" It's not only the patient who is going through pain and suffering, so are the loved ones around them...

I lost a cousin to breast cancer on December 31st, 2010. I didn't go out to celebrate with my friends. I couldn't. My cousin was a year younger than my Mother, and in fact a motherly figure to us all. And I'm not going to wait for cancer to come back close to another loved one before I do something!  The time is to act now! I don't want my nephew and nieces and all the youngsters go through what we went through. I want them to have a happy future.

● What Can You Do? ●
Support me. Sponsor my fundraising event. Get your friends and family to donate too! That's all I'm asking...  I learned a very good lesson in life shortly after my sister passed away.  A friend wanted to spend some time with me. I was about to go back to America. "My friend goes - wouldn't you rather take the time off work now while I'm alive and spend the time with me, rather than come to MY funeral and spend that day with me? That's all I'm asking!"

And that's all I'm asking from you. Donate now, while you have the funds. Run that race and raise those funds while you're still able to...

... because everybody deserves the chance of a lifetime!
